Biography
INA VARE is Latvian glitch and analog video artist.
Her artistic journey stems from her innate technological curiosity which crosses from the physical world of analog through to the digital. Through this journey her creative energy has given her growing recognition in the CryptoArt movement. Her signature style has developed through her deep understanding of digital, VHS and circuit-bending tools and processes. By experimenting with retro-analog video aesthetics INA re-creates a nostalgic visual experience which reflects the depths of noise, error, and glitch. Her artistic narrative is balanced between sentimental and deeply personal matters ranging from complete abstraction through to parody and the grotesque. INA has been creating within the audio-visual realm since the early 2000's: as a video artist, animator, motion designer and real-time video performer. Her video art has been included in numerous video art and film festivals across the world like Reykjavik International Film Festival (2011, Iceland), Shanghai International Film Festival (2011, China), Filmfest Dresden (2012, Germany) and many others in Europe and USA. In 2021 she has joined the CryptoArt community and began tokenising her work on the blockchain as NFTs. She has taken part in several group exhibitions across the crypto space and dropped impressive collections both solo and in collaboration with other growing artists and collectives including Max Capacity, FeltZine, Letsglitchit and Death Punk. Her commitment to the CryptoArt is reflected in the energy she contributes to the #TRASHART movement and her active contributions to the Death Punk and Glitch schools in CryptoArt, including being a member of the Glitch Alpha Force. Recently INA's work has been exhibited at Unit London, NFT Show Europe Valencia and NFT Factory Paris. Her work was exhibited and auctioned at Sotheby's New York in 2023. She holds a BA and a MA in Visual Communication from Art Academy of Latvia. |
